Raven had her wedding at Kama'ole Beach III in Kihei. We then went into Wailea and walked the path that connects all the high end resorts. Most of Maui is a dump. It looks a whole lot like the poorer/rural/suburban sections of Northern California. Wailea was one of the few places that actually felt like, er, Hawaii. We actually spent a lot of our evenings at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. If you've got the money, I would recommend staying there. And perhaps not leaving...

But seriously, Maui should not be your first choice of Hawaii Islands to visit...it's totally overbuilt and they're still building! It's got traffic. Lots of it. Even in the slow season. I can't even imagine what it's like during the busy season.
